Get Involved
Here in the North Country we take pride in being good neighbors. When the chips are down, we know how to roll up our sleeves and pitch in. Throughout the region you can find a wide variety of groups and charities that have been established to bring assistance to those in need. These organizations often depend heavily on volunteers and donations to provide the services that they do. The last couple years have been particularly tough, and these resources have been stretched so very thin. We feel that this is the perfect time to shine some light on these groups and hopefully inspire folks to step up, step out, and get involved. We here at North Country Local and Phlume MEDIA proudly participate in fundraisers and events around the region to help increase awareness. Whether it is volunteering an hour or two of your time, collecting donations or just spreading the word, you too can contribute to building and maintaining the resources in our area.
Give What You Can
Giving Back starts with you, your experiences, your skills, and your goals. Have you thought about getting involved, but don’t know where to start? Everyone has something to offer. Here are a few tips on how you can find a meaningful way to give back:
- Make a list things that you feel strongly about-Animals, Hunger, Children, the Environment
- Make a list of your skills-Physical Strength, Outgoing, Neat Handwriting, Good Cook
- Go to our Give Back Page and find a Charity that matches your passions and skills
- Make that call. Reach out to them, ask if you can be of service, find out what they need and set up a time to go!
Find the Help You Need
Everyone experiences circumstances that are difficult to manage alone. There are so many great resources out there, but when times are tough, it can he an added burden to have to go searching for them. It can be hard to find who can help with your problem. We know that struggle, and have put together the Give Back Page to help our friends and neighbors find help in their time of need. We have built this page so that you can simply click on the name of the organization and the link will take you right to their webpage.

We know there are many resources out there, and would love to here from you if we missed one. We have a talented staff of web developers and would love to have them use those skills to help increase the access to important the resources in our area.
