Free regional employment listings?

coffee-951948_1280As we re-establish some of our roots here with North Country Local, we’re looking back at the programs we’ve offered through the years. Holiday shopping and scavenger hunts, design a date valentines events, giveaways and contests. We’ve had a lot of amazing programs. Now we want to decide on how best to bring some of them back.

Of course, some of them are harder to implement than others. But that’s not to say they aren’t all great ideas. We established which ones would be better suited to bring back. We looked at what used to work well, and thought of a few new ideas to add. It quickly became clear that hosting a North Country Job Board would be the best “first rollout” for our new initiatives.

Job Board

kitchenWe are pleased to present to you our new North Country focused Job Board. The free-to-use service is in it’s infancy right now, however, it is fully functional and waiting for employment listings. We have set up and integrated a purchasing system for businesses. This allows them to now place help wanted classified ads securely through our site.

As the classified listings begin to populate our board, we will share them with the community on our Faebook page. Currently employers can purchase single or multiple listings for jobs. We also offer a discounted 10-packs for agencies and larger organizations. Jobs remain active on the board for 30 days, and expire on their own. Should employers wish to edit their listings, we have provided a user dashboard for them to access their jobs, and edit them as needed. As an added bonus, between now and the end of August, anyone can list their first job posting with us for free. Simply enter NCWORKS into the coupon code box and it will take of the $10 for the single listing. You can also use it to save $10 on the other job listings as well. Just in case you need more than one listing.

Memberships

Now, one of the best parts about us creating this new job board was that is it forced us to review our Business Memberships. We knew we wanted to begin the process of automating our program; this gave us the opportunity to do just that. We implemented a new purchase portal for both our 3-month and 6-month Facebook Contest program. Business members will need to coordinate with us for their contest gift certificate hand off. However, all payments are now fully automated through our online portal.

In addition, we added “plus” programs for businesses that may want to utilize the new job board. These are our regular three and six month contest programs, but purchasers can add on job listings at a discounted rate. Members will have individual credentials to log into the site. With this login, business members can edit their account, view theur purchases, see remaining job listings if they purchased them, and have access to additional features we will be adding in the months to come.
